Office of the Fire Marshal

The Office of Fire Marshall conducts Annual Inspections for businesses in the West Florence Fire District. These annual inspections are part of our Fire and Life Safety Program. These annual inspections are required to ensure that local businesses meet the Fire and Life Safety requirements as set forth in the International Fire Code and the International Building Code, as well as, the referenced codes of the National Fire Protection Association. It is our goal to protect our business owners, employees and the general public through this program ensuring a safe environment for workers and consumers in the businesses of our district.

The Office of Fire Marshal conducts Fire Prevention Classes for businesses, schools and the general public. West Florence Fire Department recently purchased the BullEx – Bullseye Extinguisher Training System. This system is a state-of-the-art electronic training system used to train employees and citizens of our community on the proper use of Fire Extinguishers. This system along with a 1 hour classroom instruction period, meets the OSHA requirements for employers and is free of charge to businesses. It is also a valuable tool for the citizens’ of West Florence. Classroom instruction and training on the BullEx system for private citizens and schools is also free of charge. You can call the West Florence Fire Department at 843-665-8857 to schedule training for your business or school. Private Citizens training schedules will be posted quarterly.
